I work in video and there is no one who make great consumer level drives for cheap. But for production house with multiple editors it is very interesting. Maybe this is what the instructor was referring to. The instructor might be interested in this site.

Hddd was wondering if this applies to SSD external drives or not? Don’t forget multiple back-up drives. I will be doing a longer extensive hhdd for different hard drive applications and different brands.

I dig sexy, tough and efficient drives. I haven’t seen any test on ssd showing latency that would produce an issue, but I haven’t really researched that. You said it was the first thing you learned in editing school and perhaps it was a misunderstanding of what was taught that day.
